 Peter L. Weinberger

You can only understand the risks, benefits and expenses of litigation if you have actually litigated cases. I have been a litigator for nearly 30 years. I have represented plaintiffs and defendants and also served as an arbitrator. I bring a practical approach to mediation that judges often lack because they have not represented a client in decades.

I am a 1991 graduate of Loyola Law School. I was on the Deans List throughout law school and was also awarded an Ahmanson Foundation Merit Scholarship.
Following law school, I worked at three different law firms. I worked at at an insurance defense firm and also at a plaintiff’s tort firm. I also handled all variety of business litigation.

In 1999, I opened Peter L. Weinberger & Associates. When I started my own firm, my client base changed from institutions to individuals, entrepreneurs and small businesses. My clients have included real estate brokers and developers, contractors, escrow companies, hard money lenders, pawn brokers, film/tv production companies and restaurant owners. I have represented many individuals in personal injury matters. My practice included matters in state and federal court both in the trial courts as well as the courts of appeal. My appellate practice has resulted in published decisions in the California Court of Appeal and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.

If I’m not in the office, there is a good chance I’m playing ice hockey. I have played in tournaments in the U.S. and Canada. I am also on the board of the San Fernando Valley Community Mental Health Center and am an active member of the Los Angeles Rotary Club.
